This project is an extension of the GTHA Light Pollution Analysis project. Data from the light pollution and light spill analysis was analyzed and ran through a collection of special software packages, filtered and used to estimate an energy footprint by area. The entire GTHA area was subdivided into smaller areas and individually number. This was detailed in reports and allows for each area to be focused on individually.

The scope of the project intended to find areas of Southern Ontario showing signs of light spill and heightened levels of energy use, based on street lighting. From this data, we were able to make inferences about the Toronto power distribution grid and determine exact locations of extra stress on infrastructure.
